Lent Newsletter 5

Hi all,

We have our day trip this term coming up in just under two weeks (drivers still wanted!), an announcement for our emergency first aid course early next term and the nominations for next year's committee.

Lent term day trip to Holme, Peak District on Sun 18th Feb

This term's day trip is to the Peak District. It's a ~3hr drive - some of the closest hills we can get to! It's to a different part of the Peak District than our annual Fresher's Day Trip and to a region we've not visited in a few years.

We're still looking for drivers for this trip (particularly any with their own cars) so if you're able to drive please get in touch with our meets secretary (cuhwc-meets[at]srcf.net).

We’ll meet at 6:45 to leave Cambridge at 7:00 and will be back well before midnight. The provisional cost for this trip is £25 (but will be confirmed when we let you know if you have a place).

Sign up is via this webform which will close at 18:00 on Sunday 11th Feb. We'll then email to to let you know if you have a place or if you're on the waiting list. If you get a place and drop out, you'll be less likely to get a place on future trips, and if we're unable to find a replacement (more likely the later you drop out) you'll have to pay for your place.

Remote Emergency Care 2 course, 5th - 6th May

The club is again running an advanced first aid course, with details of the specification here. Cost is to be confirmed, and if you're an active club member you can apply for a 50% subsidy from the Andy Gibson Training Fund.

Sign up is open, and places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
