We're looking forward to resuming club trips and socials this Michaelmas.
17 Oct: Freshers' Day Trip
Our first trip of term will be to Edale in the Peak District, as per club tradition. This trip is primarily intended for new people - which means anyone who has yet to go on a club trip (you do not have to be a club member). More information to follow in a message to the CUHWC Email List following the Sports Fair (October 4) and Fresher's Fair (October 5-6).
Sports Fair and Freshers' Fair
If you would like to meet us in person to find out more, do come along to the University of Cambridge's Sports Fair on October 4, where we will have a stall indoors, and / or Freshers' Fair on October 5-6, where we will have a stall outside the marquee on Parker's Piece.
More Dates for your Diary
We have three weekend trips planned for this term, which will take us to three of the most popular National Parks in the country: Snowdonia, the Yorkshire Dales, and the club's spiritual home of the Lake District.
Oct 29-31: Snowdonia
Nov 19-21: Yorkshire Dales
Dec 3-5: Lake District
As ever, sign-up for each trip will open roughly two weeks before the trip takes place and will be advertised in an email to the club email list at that time. Places are assigned at random, and we'll confirm whether you have a place soon after the sign-up has closed.
Pub Trips Resuming
During term you can find us most Wednesdays at the Castle Inn from 8.30pm, where some of us should be wearing some CUHWC clothing and maybe have some maps on the table to help newcomers identify our group. You can visit our Facebook Chat page on a Wednesday for confirmation of whether there will be a pub meet that day.
Mailing list and Facebook Chat
If you'd like to get involved in the club's activities and be kept up to date with what we're planning, sign up to the CUHWC Mailing List (no need to be a member to join). We also post some updates on our CUHWC Chat Facebook page.
We look forward to seeing CUHWC members on the hills and in the pub, and to welcoming new people!
