Cooking for Ennerdale Trip, 13-15 February 2015

This is a wiki (editable web page) to organise cooking for this weekend's trip to Ennerdale. The kitchen at Low Gillerthwaite Field Centre is equipped with "2 gas cookers, 4 hobs and 2 small ovens, and one is a catering size with 6 hobs and larger oven and catering-type gas grill. Most standard cooking pots and utensils are provided with a fridge and freezer too."

You can either suggest a meal idea or join one of the existing ones and you're obviously also welcome to sort yourself out (move your name to 'Independent'). Please remove your name from the 'Not yet signed-up for meal' list too once you're in a group or have decided to cook alone. The person who suggests the meal is responsible for arranging the ingredients - everyone else in the group should bring money on the trip to pay for their share, and expect to help with the preparation and washing up.

Note Please remember that Oxford University Walking Club (OUWC) will be staying with us and 30% of the spaces in each cooking group should be allocated to OUWC members.

Meal suggestions by Wednesday evening. Finalise groups by Thursday afternoon so the person suggesting the meal knows how much they have to buy and has a day to do the shopping.

OUWC will be cooking as a group of 26, rather than in smaller groups. As we don't know which OUWC members want to join in with CUHWC meals, we may need to change the number of free slots.

The meal will be a combination of:

Starter - Heinz soup (both Carrot and Coriander and Beef Muligatawny)

Main - Chicken Tikka Masala Lamb Curry Vegetarian curry (broccoli, aubergine, courgette, red peppers and sauce) Dhal (lots of...) Rice

Desert - a selection of cakes bought from Tesco (Manor house cake, Jamaica ginger and Golden Syrup)
