CUHWC is open to everybody in Cambridge, regardless of whether or not you’re a member of the University. We're a diverse club with members ranging from first year undergrads to long-time Cambridge natives! New members are welcome at any time of the year. To find out more about who we are, what we do and whether we’re what you’re looking for, see the club introduction and FAQs, or browse the rest of the site.
At the start of the academic year in October, you can also find out more by coming along to Freshers' Fair and the Sports Fair. We also run a club Squash (an informal presentation followed by refreshments). Details will be circulated by email and will also appear on the Events page.
If you’re already convinced, great!
How to join
Joining CUHWC is simple, and you don't have to pay anything until you have a confirmed place on a trip:
- Sign up to our mailing list by clicking the link below to get details of all our trips and events sent right to your inbox.
Sign up to the mailing list - Create an account on the website. This will let you complete your profile and sign up to trips when they are open! Just click the "login/signup" button in the menu to get started.
- Wait until you get a place on a trip, then become a member (see below)
If you have any questions about membership or how to join, please contact the secretary.
Membership
You will need to become a member to come on any of our trips (except for the Freshers’ Day Trip in October). The membership fee for 2023-24 is £30 for students, £45 for non-students. It lasts for 12 months and includes BMC membership.
You can join either in advance or at the same time as signing up for a trip. However, you don’t need to be a member to come to our regular social events – the Wednesday pub meets are a great place to start if you’d like to meet people and have a chat about our trips before committing. And please note that membership does not ensure your spot on a trip.
Facebook Group
We have a Facebook group with a higher volume of posts about trips, equipment, destinations, socials etc. (No need to become a member to join!)
