Sam W's trip report

For Bullpot Farm, May 2022

[Railway tannoy chimes] We regret that the... CUHWC trip report for... Bullpot farm... is delayed by approximately.. 4 months. CUHWC committee apologises for this late running and the inconvenience this may cause you.

In May 2022 CUHWC members descended on Bullpot Farm for the penultimate trip of the (academic) year, a location notable for its most alpine of bunks and being the last weekend trip location pre-covid [citation needed]. Due to budget cuts and fallible memory the remainder of this trip report will take the form of a bulletted list of highlights:

  • The confusing hunt for a McDonalds* and subsequent revelation that they now appear inside Asdas†
  • A CUHWC member valiantly attempting to revive a bumblebee with their keychain bottle of sugar water
  • The utter chaos as 20-odd hillwalkers stomp upstairs and attempt to fit themselves into the... compact sleeping quarters
  • "No, that's the members kitchen"
  • Taking in the extremely picturesque Ribblehead Viaduct, and then a certain secretary's excitement upon seeing a steam locomotive cross it from the vantage of Whernside
  • Being left in the dust on the decent from Whernside by a certain fell running social sec
  • A game of saturday evening sardines, with some confusion over the rules. Ended up with 6(?) people crammed into the Bullpot kit drying cupboard.
  • A gentle jaunt around Malham Cove and Goredale Scar on the Sunday
  • The damn Cow Song, I guess

Sorry for the late report,
- A certain transport sec
