CUHWC/CUMC Trip (Snowdonia)

About the trip

We are organising a JOINT TRIP with the Cambridge University Mountaineering Club (CUMC) to Ogwen Valley!
Before signing up, please read the information below.

1. Signups on CUHWC's website will NOT need to be engaging in climbing-related activities.

2. If you intend to do rock climbing, please note the requirements on the CUMC website (https://www.cumc.org.uk/meets/outdoor), and make sure you can competently lead belay. Please get in contact with them to check what equipment you'll need. Climbing will be arranged by CUMC.

3. Signing up to both clubs' trip signups will NOT improve your chances on getting on the trip.

4. This trip will be focusing on scrambling, weather permitting. In the signup comments, do indicate your past scrambling experience, past experience with the club, and ability to navigate/lead groups.

5. Do also let us know about any conditions we should know about that may be of issue when scrambling.

6. The club has limited safety equipment to lend out for scrambling. In the signup comments, please indicate if you own the following: Helmet

7. If you own and are competent in the usage of other mountaineering equipment (harness, rope, trad rack etc.), you're welcome to also indicate so.

8. If the weather conditions are bad/it is unsafe to do so, we will not be scrambling. Final say will be made on the day by the Trip Safety. Please read the Safety Policy (here) and Risk Assessment (here) - contact the Safety Officer (here) if you have any doubts.

9. The initial cost of signup only covers the bunkhouse space - price for food/transport will be settled after the trip.
